ABC Pregnancy | Nonprofit Resource Center Website with Appointment Booking & Client Portal
ABC Pregnancy is a community-based resource center in Lake Charles, Louisiana that offers free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, counseling, and support to women and families. Many visitors arrive feeling anxious or unsure, so the website needed to feel calm, welcoming, and easy to understand. We designed a clear, compassionate nonprofit website that explains each free service in plain language, answers common questions, and makes it simple to request an appointment or call. The site also gives donors and volunteers a place to take part in the center’s mission.

Warm, Reassuring Design
Someone searching “I think I might be pregnant” is often stressed, so we kept the design gentle and uncluttered. A soft purple brand color, friendly photography, and short, supportive messages like “You are not alone” and “You belong here” set a caring tone from the first screen. Nothing on the page feels pushy or clinical.

Organized Service Navigation
The center offers many services, so we grouped them into simple menu sections: Free Services, Contact Us, and a Donate button. Each service, from pregnancy testing and ultrasound to Medicaid help, parenting classes, and referrals, has its own page. Visitors can find what they need without scrolling through a long list.
MAIN GOALS
- Make It Easy to Reach Out
Taking the first step can feel hard, so we kept contact options visible and simple. The homepage shows the phone number, an appointment request button, office hours, and an after-hours option to call or text with a nurse. Visitors can ask for help in whatever way feels most comfortable. - Explain Services Clearly and Honestly
Trust matters a great deal for a center like this. We wrote clear sections about what the center does and does not provide, and we highlighted that every service is free with no insurance or Medicaid card required. A dedicated FAQ page and an “Am I Pregnant?” page help visitors find answers on their own before they reach out. - Support Clients, Donors, and Volunteers
The site serves more than one audience. Current clients can log in to a client portal, new visitors can request an appointment, and supporters can donate, volunteer, or join the board. This keeps the center’s day-to-day work and its fundraising in one organized place.
DESCRIPTION
The main challenge with this project was designing for people in a sensitive moment. Visitors might be young, worried, or looking for answers they don’t want to ask anyone in person. The website had to be informative without being overwhelming, and caring without being vague about what the center offers.
We started with the most important questions: What services are available? Are they really free? How do I get in touch? The homepage answers these quickly, with a clear introduction, a short list of core services, and contact details in plain view. A real client testimonial adds a human voice and reassurance.
Behind the scenes, the site holds a lot of information, including support programs, Medicaid help, community referrals, and educational resources. We organized these into a logical menu and gave important topics their own pages, which also helps people find the center when they search online for local pregnancy help.
The site works smoothly on phones, which is how many people will first find it. Because it’s built on Squarespace, the center’s team can update hours, announcements, and service pages on their own, like the recent address change.
The result is a welcoming, well-organized website that helps ABC Pregnancy reach women and families in Lake Charles, answer their questions, and connect them with free support.
